A Year Later: Remembering A True Hero, Jeremy Jylka

Pine City Firefighter, Jeremy Jylka, passed away on April 29th, 2008 after falling unconscious while responding to a grass fire. He was 34-years-of-age.

Jylka is survived by wife Kelly and daughter Anika.

Minnesota Governor, Tim Pawlenty, ordered all state flags fly at half-staff on the day of Jylka’s funeral.

Jylka started working for the Pine City Fire Department on May 1st of 2007.

A fundraiser held in May at the Eagles Club in Rush City raised over $2,200 for the Jylka family, including over $700 from a silent auction.
