MADISON –Rep. Ann Hraychuck (D-Balsam Lake) released the following statement regarding the Joint Informational Hearing held today by the Assembly Fish and Wildlife Committee and the Senate Transportation, Tourism, Forestry, and Natural Resources Committee:

“As Chair of the Assembly Fish and Wildlife Committee, I am very pleased with the number of people that traveled from across the state to attend the hearing today.  There were 63 people that spoke and 247 that registered their comments—and there were hundreds more sportsmen and women in the two overflow rooms.

“My goal for this hearing—as well as the one that I held in Spooner last month—was to make sure that hunters had an opportunity to have their voices heard regarding how the DNR manages Wisconsin’s deer population.  I appreciate that hunters took advantage of this forum to express their concerns.”
