One of the two boilers at Pine Technical College was installed during the Lyndon Johnson Administration.  The second was put in place during the James Carter Administration.  However, an upgrade may be on the way.

Included in both the Senate and House versions of the bonding bills is $1.9 million  for Pine Tech for replacing boilers and HVAC units, according to College President, Dr. Robert Musgrove.

Dr. Musgrove says the money would “make a huge difference”  improving energy efficiency at the college.  He said it will also help lower operating costs.

Representative Tim Faust (DFL- Hinckley) said he believes the money for Pine Tech will make its way into the final version of the bill.

From the total money proposed in the bills, $1.5 million is for the boiler replacements, and the remainder of the funds are for the HVAC unit.
