Melissa Sunderland, 26, of Grasston pleaded guilty Friday in Burnett County Court to two misdemeanor 4th Degree Sexual Assault Charges. She had sexual relations with a 15-year-old boy in Pine City and Wood River Township.  Sunderland will spend nine-months in jail for the charges.

Burnett County Attorney, William Norine, tells Red Rock Radio the case was a “Long and complicated proceeding.”

According to the Burnett County Sentinel the encounters began in November 2007.  On top of the jail time, she must also undergo a  sexual offender evaluation.
