		<description>I agree with the above, but would also like to say that more reform is needed to reduce costs in the health care system.

I know someone who receives Medicall Assistance (MA-A state funded medical program). Because he has a spend-down because of income guidelines he has to pay for his prescriptions.  

He was told to ask for a cash price rather than running this through his MA.  I was shocked at the difference in costs.  One of his prescriptions had it been processed through Medical Assistance would have cost our state $38.00, because he asked for a cash price he only paid $13.00.

Why is our state willing to pay these inflated costs for prescriptions?</description>
