dannykittermanDanny Kitterman, 43, of Mora is a free man.  Kitterman pleaded guilty to an amended count of fifth degree assault and obstruction of justice for his role in the December shooting of Michael Hughes, 31, of Brook Park.

Kitterman has served 68 days in jail since his arrest on December 27th.  He will be releases as part of the plea deal.

Kitterman is the brother of Connie Kitterman who, last week in Pine County Court, admitted to shooting Hughes.  Danny Kitterman and Jeffrey Thauwald were at the scene when the shooting occurred.

Danny Kitterman told the court, Monday, he consumed six beers and two ounces of Jagermeister the night of the shooting.  Senior Assistant County Attorney Steve Cundy says there are witnesses that saw Kitterman and the two other finish “half a bottle” of Jagermeister.  Drinking alcohol is a violation of Kitterman’s probation for a previous DWI charge.

Kitterman must undergo a chemical use assessment.  Judge Bearce told him, “I’d be real surprised if you don’t have an alcohol problem.”

Sentencing for Kitterman is scheduled for April 3rd at 10 a.m.
