Kyle Huggett

The trial for Kyle Huggett of Danbury, schedule to begin Monday, has been pushed back.  The former Minneapolis firefighter is accused of shooting and killing John Peach, 29, in Rural Danbury in January of 2008.

The defense for Huggett argued last week in Burnett County Court that threatening calls left by Peach on Huggett’s phone are evidence that Hugget acted in self defense.  The phones of Hugget, Peach, and Huggett’s girlfriend have been sent to the state crime lab.

In July, Huggett pleaded not guilty to the charges.  Police reports indicate Huggett shot Peach twice in the chest after an apparent dispute between the two men, that was fuel by text messages.

This man was defending his home, he shouldn’t have been charged.

In Crawford County last fall, a man was breaking the windows out of a home. (Man outside breaking windows with pipe. Woman inside.) The woman was in no immediate danger, as the man was outside. She (the woman) fired at the man, hitting him. When police arrived, they followed the blood trail to where the man had collapsed. She wasn’t charged with any crime.

Again, in Crawford County, they guy wasn’t in the house, and she wasn’t charged. Here the person came through the door with enough force to take out the door jam. This person should never have been charged either.
