Pine County Honoring Judge Swenson

swensonjudgePine County is honoring Judge Douglas Swenson, 63, for his years of service. The honorable judge passed away Sunday after a long battle with Leukemia. Swenson served Pine and Chisago Counties as a 10th Judicial District Court Judge for over a decade. Judge Krista Martin talked about her late colleague Tuesday at the Pine County board meeting.

The Pine County Board agreed to plant a tree on the grounds of the courthouse in rememberance of Swenson. County Commissioner Doug Carlson requested a Pine tree. The necessary funds will come from donations.

Swenson, a resident of Forest Lake, also served six terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Funeral services for Douglas Swenson are on Saturday, February 7th at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Forest Lake.
