“Pack” of Rottweillers Loose in Rush City
The Chisago County Sheriff’s Department and Animal Control are still looking for a young male rottweiller that was one of three on the loose, Thursday, in Rush City. Animal Control tracked down two others near the southbound Rush City exit on I-35 around 2 p.m. One male and one female rottweiller were taken to the Rush City impound facility. Only one of the dogs was wearing a collar, but has no tags. The owner is unknown.
Responding officers say the dogs were “friendly.” The Chisago County Sheriff’s department does not know how the dogs got loose, but say there is no sign of abuse and they appear healthy.
Animal Control says the missing dog is “not aggressive” and will likely avoid strangers. Control says there have been several recent cases of dogs being dumped in the area.
Rottweillers are responsible for the second most fatal human attacks of any breed of dogs between 1979 and 1998, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Anyone with information on the dogs can call 320-358-4743 or 612-990-4468.
