knutson1Spencer Knutson, 18, was in Pine County Court Friday for an omnibus hearing. Knutson is one of four teens accused in a series of area burglaries between August and October.

His lawyer Douglas Cans told Judge John Cass that Knutson is in the process of looking for work, but has yet to find a job.  He was offered a construction job in Galveston, Texas to help with hurricane relief efforts. Cans requested that Cass allow Knutson to leave the state for the job.

Pine County Senior Assistant County Attorney Steve Cundy said that given the severity of the charges, the state asks the request be denied. Judge Cass did deny the request.

Cans says his client, Knutson, continues to comply with release conditions.

Knutson faces 11 counts in the cases, including two counts of first degree burglary. He is back in court on March 6th.
