Pine County Board Freezes Hiring/Salaries; Montbriand New Chair

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009 at 6:11 am

Due in part to the Minnesota economic forecast released in early December, cities and counties throughout the state are searching for ways to save money and are cutting back.

On Tuesday, the Pine County Board agreed to a hiring freeze. However, the board did conclude that if a position becomes vacant, the personnel committee will make a recommendation and then the board will vote on the potential hire.

This is different from previous years when the personnel committee made recommendations and the decision was placed on the consent agenda. This year, hiring decisions will be placed on the regular agenda.

Nothing seems to be easier than seeing someone whom you can help but not helping.
I suggest we start giving it a try. Give love to the ones that need it.
    God will appreciate it.
