Loading ...[Update] Murder-Suicide in Polk County
Polk County investigators continue to look into an apparent murder suicide southeast of Luck this weekend.
Police believe Rayburn Boyd, 74, killed his 66-year-old female companion, LaVonne Relander, then killed himself at a residence on East Round Lake Road in rural Luck.
The Midwest County Medical Examiners Office in Ramsey conducted an examination and believe Relander died as a result of three gun shot wounds by a small caliber weapon.
Polk County Sheriff Tim Moore tells Red Rock Radio that Boyd did not take his life with a gun, but does not specify how he died.
A family member of Relander found the bodies Saturday around 10:35 a.m.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Department and Polk County Medical Examiner’s Office are handling the case.
