Pine County Raises Money for MDA

Thursday, December 18th, 2008 at 12:01 pm

Jailbirds are dialing non-stop today, trying to earn their way out of lock-up for the Pine County Muscular Dystrophy Association drive at the Northwest Company Fur Post. The drive is taking place throughout the day.

Over 100 area residents are expected to participate. They are making phone calls to friends, family, and businesses in an effort to meet the $10,000 goal. The money raised will send children with Muscular Dystrophy to summer camps.

Each of the participants receive a mug shot, stay in jail for an hour and serve their time by making phone calls to try to get donations.
