Braham Resident Arrested for Strangling Wife

A 37-year-old Braham resident is in the Isanti County jail for strangling his wife on Sunday.

Dwayne Hill was arrested and is charged with one count of domestic assault by strangulation, misdemeanor domestic assault and disorderly conduct. According to the criminal complaint, the victim told Isanti County Sheriffs that Hill hit her multiple times, including in the head because she was to slow to get out of bed.

Hill then order her to get out of the house. The complaint states that as she was getting her shoes, he then put her head under his arm like a chokehold. The victim’s nose was bleeding and their were scrapes on her chin, neck and throat when authorities found her walking down the road.

Hill faces up to three years in prison. He appeared in court Tuesday. Unconditional Bond is set at $30.000, conditional bond is $15,000. The Isanti county jail says Hill is still behind bars.
