[Audio] Arrowhead Transit in Pine County Done…For Now
Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty is planning to announce cuts throughout the state on Friday to deal with the budget shortfall. The Arrowhead Transit service, scheduled to begin in Pine County on January 2nd, will be cut, according to Arrowhead Transit marketing and public relations coordinator, Pam Smith. Smith told Red Rock Radio last week that the service was on track for the early January start date, and says she is surprised that the service is getting cut.
Arrowhead planned on operating five buses throughout the county, including dial-a-ride service. Smith says the cuts are not only effecting service in Pine County, but to seven other counties. She adds that while the service is shut down for now, there is still a chance Arrowhead will provide transit to the county in the future.
