Student From Danbury, 20 Others Coming Home from Thailand
Earlier this month, 18 students from Northwestern College were stuck in Thailand after political unrest shut down the airport where they were scheduled to depart.
The students and three faculty members are expected to return back to the U.S. on Wednesday. One of the 18 students is Kristen Scott from Danbury. The ICS Internship is an 8-week global studies and missions experience led by a Northwestern College Intercultural Studies professor and staff member. During the trip students experience a variety of ministries, cultures, countries and religious groups.
The college says the students were never in danger and left Thailand from smaller airports two hours from Bangkok. The group continued their scheduled stops in Japan and then to Hawaii.
