Two Arrested for Felony Burglary in Harris

Richard Michael Tschida, 20, of Chisago City and a 17-year-old, initials J.E.M, were arrested Thursday morning for a burglary in Harris.

According to the criminal complaint, a female witnessed the two men entering her neighbor’s home by kicking in the front door. Tschida and the teen then existed the house, entered a Ford Expedition and sped off westbound on Stark Road.

Officers located the vehicle at County Road 2 and Skogman Lake Road. Police removed the two men. The teen told police that he told Tschida that they were going to a friends house, but did not tell him the reason. J.E.M did admit to forcing entry into the residence and stealing earrings and a snowboarding jacket, according to the criminal complaint.

Both Tschida and the teen face one count of Felony Aiding and Abetting Burglary in the Second Degree. The crime carries a penalty of 10 years in prison or a $20,000 fine. Conditional Bond was set for Tschida at $40,000.

Chisago County impounded the vehicle.
