Isanti County Commissioner Race Settled with Recount

Eight votes separated Larry Southerland and Terry Turnquist in the race for the Isanti County Commissioner Two seat after the November 4th General Election. Eight days later, the number remained at eight. The Isanti County Auditors Office held the recount Wednesday at the Isanti County Government Center, and when all the ballots were counted, Incumbant Larry Southerland still had eight more votes. Isanti County Auditor-Treasure Terry Treichel describes the process.

The recount included the townships of Dalbo, Maple Ridge, Springvale, Stanchfield and Wyanette, and the city of Braham.
Also, five judges were named Wednesday to settle disputes in the recount for the U-S Senate seat between Norm Coleman and Al Franken. Coleman leads by 206 votes.
