Veterans Day: Stories and Memories of a Vet’s Son

Dr. Jon Stratte gave a pair of presentations at city hall for Veterans Day. Stratte showed videos, letters, and artifacts his father, Major Alf Stratte, collected while serving in World War II. Dr. Jon Stratte says it is an honor to come back to the city where he grew up, and share the priceless stories.

Stratte’s father, Alf, practiced medicine in Pine City for over 50 years and served in the National Guard in both World Wars. He says reliving his father’s military history gives him a great appreciation for the sacrifices made by those who serve the country.

About of dozen veterans attended Tuesday’s presentation and were honored with a round of applause.
