Winter Awareness Week
Monday kicks off Winter Awareness Week in Wisconsin and Winter Hazard Awareness Week in Minnesota.
Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle will recognize the work of snowplow drivers on Wednesday with Snowplow Driver Appreciation Day in Wisconsin.
In Minnesota, the Department of Public Safety will devote each of the next five days to a specific winter safety theme. Monday’s focus is on surviving ice storms, blizzards, and sub-zero temperatures.
Tuesday: Safety on Ice, Snowmobile Safety
Wednesday: Winter Fire Safety, Holiday Fire Safety
Thursday: Winter Travel and Insurance Issues, indoor air, including carbon monoxide
Friday: Winter Driving Tips and Auto Safety.
