Pine County Numbers Effect Senate Recount
Norm Coleman’s lead over Al Franken in the race for the U.S Senate seat in Minnesota is dwindling as the recount continues. Part of the change has to do with Pine County.
Partridge Township misreported the initial numbers for Al Franken. At first, election officials reported the DFL candidate received 24 votes, after a second look, the number was in fact 124 votes.
The Star Tribune cites exhausted officials for the mistake.
Franken’s deficit is now 236 votes. It is the closest race for the senate in the country.
Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie says the recount wont be complete until mid-november at the earliest
