Man Identified in Kanabec County Crash

Scott Raymond Wellnitz, 51, of Mora has been identified in a fatal accident in Kanabec County on Tuesday. Wellnitz was the driver of the vehicle that rolled over in Peace Township.

The accident happened at 310th avenue in Peace Township just before 7:30 p.m. Wellnitz was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

North Memorial Air Care, the Minnesota State Patrol, Kanabec Hospital, Mora Fire Department and Kanabec County First Responders assisted at the scene.

The investigation is on-going by the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday Nov. 8, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kroschel . Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 7 from 5 to 8 PM at Akkerman – Ingebrand Chapel and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
