Members of the Pine City Chamber 0f Commerce and local business owners raved about the work being done in Pine City, Thursday night, at the annual Chamber banquet. Now the city can officially call itself Outstanding.

Initiative Foundation Communications Director, Matt Kilian, made the announcement that Pine City is the winner of the 2009 Outstanding Community Award.

The city will receive the award and recognition at an April 17th banquet in St. Cloud. George Wallin, a 1971 Pine City High School Graduate, is a member of the Initiative Foundation Board of Trustees. He stood alongside Kilian during the announcement. He says Pine City is doing work unique from any other city in Minnesota.

Pine City’s selection is based on four factors, Economy, Environment, Youth, and Community Pride.

The Initiative Foundation encourages any resident that wants to attend the ceremony in St. Cloud. Contact the Initiative Foundation, 320-632-9255.
