Man Killed in Rollover Near Pine County Line

The Pine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal accident Wednesday night on County Road 2 in Aitkin near the Pine County line. Arvid Simonson, 58, of McGrath was pronounced dead at the scene.

The report from the Minnesota State Patrol states Simonson was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer at a high rate of speed when it went off the left side of the road and rolled over multiple times. Simonson was ejected from the vehicle.

Alcohol is believe to be involved, and the State Patrol reports Simonson was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, which happened just after 8 p.m.
