Eleven individuals are facing charges of conspiring to distribute crack cocaine and distributing crack cocaine on the St. Croix Tribal Lands earlier this month.

The accused individuals range from 18 years of age to 52. All were charged on Monday. Ten of the eleven were arrested on or near St. Croix Tribal land in Wisconsin. Andrew Sonnenberg, 25, was arrested near the Red Lake Reservation in Minnesota. All were residents of the Northwest Wisconsin land.

The conspiracy charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of ten years in prison and a maximum penalty of life in prison. With the exception of Sonnenberg, the other ten are due for the their initial appearence today. Sonnenberg will have his initial appearence in Minnesota.

Erik Peterson is the United States Attorney for Western District of Wisconsin. He says the arrest are the result of a long term investigation which included both the Burnett and Polk County Sheriff’s Departments as well as the Wisconsin State Patrol. Peterson expects additional indictments and arrests as the investigation continues.

Andrew Sonnenberg, 25 – 1 Count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine base and 4 counts of distribution of cocaine base

Amanda Sonnenberg, 23 – 1 Count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine base and 1 count of distribution of cocaine base

Bruce Rainey, 29 – 1 Count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine base and 1 count of distribution of cocaine base

Christifer Sonnenberg, 18 – 1 Count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine base and 4 counts of distribution of cocaine base

Margrette Cobb, 28 – 1 Count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine base and 1 count of distribution of cocaine base

George Rainey, 28 – 1 Count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine base

Manley Williams, 41 – 4 Counts of conspiracy to distribute cocaine base

Joseph Merrill, 28 – 1 Count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine base
