[Audio] Pine City Planning Commission Approves new Sports Bar

Pine City is working to fill the vacant stores fronts in the the cities downtown. On Monday, the city’s Planning Commission took a step forward in bringing a new sports bar to the downtown. The commission approved a request from Jerry and Matt McConnell to open Chubby’s Bar and Grill on the corner of Main St. and Eighth Street, which was the old Cedar Creek Outfitters and Grizzley’s bar. Matt McConnell spoke with the commission Monday. He says he is excited with the opportunity to open the restaurant.

McConnell says renovations are already underway and plans to open the doors the first week of December or late November. The city council still must give final approval on the restaurant. The council will vote on the decision at their November 5th meeting.
