[Audio] Safe Cab Meeting in Pine City Wednesday

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008 at 5:16 am

Bar Owners, local business owners and liquor distributors will meet in Pine City tonight for a special meeting on the proposed Safe Cab program in Pine County. Safe Cab provides rides home for bar patrons for free or limited costs, and collaborates with local bar owners who call the Safe Cab when they believe someone has had too much to drink.

Bob Bollenbeck is the Transportation Manager of the East Central Regional Development Commission. He says the same program has been effective for three years in Isanti County.

Bollenbeck plans to speak at Wednesday’s meeting along with Pete Brown of Cambridge Cab and Safe Cab and Judge James Dehn of Isanti County Courts. Bollenbeck says if Safe Cab is able to pick up momentum in Pine County, it can be an invaluable resource.
