Traffic Deaths Down in MN, Motorcycle Deaths on the Rise
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety reports there are fewer deaths on state roadways this year compared to the same time period in 2007.
So far in 2008, there are 301 traffic deaths compared to 350 a year ago. The department also predicts these names were remain lower than last year. Figures released Wednesday by the department project 450 deaths on state roads for 2008 which would be 60 less than 2007.
However, the department does say that motorcycle deaths are rising. There have been 52 motorcycle deaths so far this year compared to 61 all of last year.
