The Pine City School Board approved the 2008 payable 2009 proposed levy at Monday night’s board meeting. The levy is up 4.33 percent. The increase comes as state aide continues to decrease. Superintendent Darwin Bostic presented the board with the numbers since 200. Since then, state funds to Pine City is down nearly $600,000, and down over $100,0000 from last year. While this is disappointing, School Board Chairperson, Dan Peterson, says there are positives in the figures.
