Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008 at 6:09 am

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking public comments until Friday, Oct. 3rd on its forest classification and motor vehicle route designation proposal for state forest lands in east-central Minnesota.

The proposal recommends where motorized vehicles, including cars, trucks and off-highway vehicles (OHVs), will be allowed to operate on state lands. The proposal would classify most lands in the east-central area as limited, which means trails are closed unless posted open and forest roads are open to highway licensed vehicles and OHVs.

The DNR wil hold meetings September 23-25th, including on the 24th at Mora high school beginning at 6 p.m.
