Funeral Services Announced for Johnson and Broz

Lonnie Johnson, 86, of the Pokegama Lake area and formerly of the West Rock area, passed away on Wednesday, August 27th in South Dakota as the result of a two vehicle car crash. Lonnie is survived by his wife Shirley,his children Sandy & her husband Roy Ware of Iowa, Cindy & her husband Jake Boomsma of South Dakota, Lonna & her husband Lyn Sahr of Pine City, Sharie & her husband Jon Lawson of St. Paul, Lonnie Kim Johnson & his wife Jeanne , Jody and her husband David Karas, Todd Johnson and his wife Kari, and Jeff Johnson & his wife Chris of Pine City. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, sister Ann Hansen of Roseville, three brothers Wally of Florida, Dennis of Mpls, and Donald of Minneapolis.

Funeral services for Lonnie Johnson, Sr. will be Saturday, September 6th at 11 a.m. at the Pine City Evangelical Free Church Lighthouse. Visitation will be on Friday, September 5th at the Swanson Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service. There will also be visitation at the church on Saturday prior to the service. Interment will be in the Johnson Memorial Cemetery of West Rock

Mary Broz, 80, of Pine City passed away Wednesday, August 27th in South Dakota as the result of a two vehicle car crash. She is preceded in death by husband Clarence. She is survived by sister Shirley Johnson of Pine City and sister-in-law Jan Olson of Pine City. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 5th at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City. Visitation is Thursday, September 4th at the Swanson Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m with a 7:30 p.m prayer service. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service in the gathering area of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday. Interment in the Church Cemetery.
