*Web Exclusive* Pine City Grad Goes for Gold in Beijing

Jon Rydberg, Pine City
Millions tuned in to watch some of the world’s greatest athletes capture gold at the Olympics in Beijing, China. On Friday, a former Pine City Dragon will pursue the same dream at the parlympics in China. Jon Rydberg, 30, is competing in both singles and doubles tennis.

Rydberg is on the Quest for Gold in Beijing
This is Rydberg’s second trip to the Olympics, he went to Athens in 2004. He says this go around he is focused on simply doing his best, but admits grabbing the gold is the ultimate goal.
Rydberg has lived his life in a wheelerchair since he was 13 months old, when he was run over by a truck. The gold medal hopeful has not let his handicap define his successes. Rydberg says lessons he learned at Pine City helped mold him into a world class athlete.
