Pine County Discusses New Water Plan
Pine County is revising its current water plan to reduce the 151 objective plan, to one that focuses on three main goals. On Thursday, Jill Carlier and Sam Martin, with the Pine County Soil and Water, spoke with about a dozen residents to discuss what they think are the main challenges facing Pine County Water. Carlier says the new plan aims at being easier to understand while being more effective at the same time.
The group threw out ideas like improving contamination and ecoli levels, but the concensus was that the water quality needs to be the ultimate goal.
The new plan is for five years, and Carlier and Martin say they hope to have the three goals in place by the end of September
