Benefit For Mackenzie Klar Scholarship Fund Today

This Saturday, Feb. 4, an all-day fundraiser has been scheduled for the Mackenzie Klar Memorial Scholarship Fund at the American Legion in Hinckley. Originally billed as a snowmobile ride, Kenzie’s mom Lori told our Mike Hughes that alternate activities have been planned since there isn’t enough snow.

Of course, Mackenzie was the young girl who was tragically killed from a falling tree in the July 1 storm.

Siren @ Grantsburg Double Header [Audio Replays]

Tonight we’ll focus our energy on a big double header in Wisconsin’s West Lakeland Conference… it’s Siren at Grantsburg starting on Sam 1057 at 6pm. These two schools clashed in a similar double header back in December, and Siren won both games that night.

Hinckley-Finlayson Principal Brian Masterson Discusses Student-Led Changes At His School (Audio)

On Thursday, the students at Hinckley-Finlayson High School held a student assembly for the purpose of promoting positive changes between the students. Principal Brian Masterson was on the ‘First Thing in the Morning Show’ with Mike Hughes on Thursday morning before the assembly was to take place, and he explained some of the unique, kindness-based initiatives that the students are currently considering.

Senator Lourey Comments On Developments In St. Paul

State Senator Tony Lourey made his first call-in of the new legislative session this week to discuss the happenings in St. Paul. Senator Lourey said that the atmosphere at the capitol is “tough,” adding that “we are experiencing a level of partisanship that has never been seen before.”

Pine County Sheriff’s Report: Cole Discusses Internal Investigation

This week Pine County became the epicenter of one of the biggest stories in the state: the year-long internal investigation by the Pine County Sheriff’s Office caused a lot of questions.
