The unseasonably warm weather and lack of snow has led to the cancellation of the 2012 40th anniversary Mora Vasaloppet races.
Sunny skies and high temperatures of 40 degrees in the forecast led the Vasaloppet USA board of directors to their decision. The warm temps will melt what snow remains on the Knife Lake back-up ski course. This week’s forecast also didn’t show any race-saving snowfall.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety is reminding motorists to designate a sober driver before watching the Super Bowl. From 2006-2010, on Super Bowl Sunday, there were nine traffic deaths.
