It’s finally here! Our spring sports broadcast schedule began on Monday afternoon with a double header between the Pine City Dragons and the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars on 1350 AM WCMP.
The first round of the doubleheader proved to be an exciting game to kick off the season. Both teams stood close throughout as each squad could only hold a 1-run lead. With the Dragons leading 2-1 in the 5th inning, Jaguar Brady Harth hit an RBI double that started a Hinckley-Finlayson rally, which proved to set the final score of 3-2 and landed the Jaguars their first win.
The second round of the derby proved to be a very similar game. Both teams battled back and forth for the lead, as no inning went without a run from either team. Just like the first game, Brady Harth would start the rally to come back. After a 7-6 Dragon lead into the last inning, Harth would hit an RBI single and come home to score the winning run off the bat of Tony Kreger for a score of 8-7. Hinckley-Finlayson took the sweep as the Dragons fall to 0-2 on the early season.
Jesse Logan & Josh Miggler were on the call in Pine City. Below is the audio replay of the first game, you may listen to the second audio replay by clicking “Read story” at the bottom of this post.
