Wednesday night we had another section playoff game on our sports schedule. This time around it was girls basketball as the Mora Mustangs took on the Rush City Tigers.
Rush City and Mora competed in the opening round of the Section 7 Class AA playoffs. Rush had just defeated Mora one week earlier in a two-point, OT victory. In the playoff rematch, the Tigers were up by just four points at halftime but used an early second half run to build a lead. Mora battled back late, but the Tigers held on to advance to the quarterfinals.
Sophomore Payton Ramberg had 13 points and senior Abby Scherer had 20 points. The high school basketball career of Noelle Elvehjem came to an end with a 28-point outing.
