This Friday evening, Pine City’s “Art in the Park” summer concert series will kick off with the nostalgic sounds of the Pine City Jazz Bands.

Most state government offices in Wisconsin will be closed on Friday for a furlough day.

Kanabec Hospital is dedicated to the health and wellness of its communities. In keeping with this commitment, Kanabec Hospital Board members have made a decision to build a new clinic in the Pine City community.

About 795,000 Americans will suffer a stroke this year, yet most Americans cannot identify stroke symptoms or risk factors. Many strokes – some studies indicate that up to 80 percent – can be prevented through risk factor management. The month of May marks National Stroke Awareness Month annually and in keeping with this theme, Kanabec Hospital is placing an increased focus on education and awareness about stroke.

The Knights faced a much improved Quamba club and were fortunate to come away with a 4-3 victory. Newcomer Blake Karas notched his first mound win for the knights as he allowed only 1 hit over the 7 2/3 innings he worked.
