Local Church Helping Feed Hungry on Thanksgiving

Families are celebrating Thanksgiving, but, for some, the economy has made providing the traditional thanksgiving meal a challenge. One local church is stepping up to make sure those that can not afford a meal on turkey day don’t go hungry.

The State Department of Health reported Tuesday seven more deaths have occurred in Minnesota due to the H1N1 virus, including in Kanabec County.

Mothers of Detained Hikers Send Video Message to Their Children

Josh Fattal, Sarah Shourd, Shane Bauer The mothers of the three American hikers detained in Iran for almost four months today sent video messages to their children and made a direct appeal to the Iranian authorities to release them from Evin Prison, where they are being held without any contact with their families.

Bluejackets Down Saints in 4-3 Thriller

The Cambridge-Isanti/Mora/Pine City hockey team took nearly twice as many shots as the St. Francis/North Branch Saints in Tuesday’s 4-3 win. The Bluejackets never led until the games final seconds. Megan Erickson scored the game winner as the clock expired to give Cambridge-Isanti/Mora/Pine City their second win on the year.

Hunters take fewer deer during firearms season but harvest is on track
