Wayne Rouillard, 62, of Luck is in custody in the Polk County Jail facing homicide charges for the stabbing death of a man police say was his friend. Rouillard was arrested at the scene where authorities found Stephen Dahlstrom, 61, of Bogota, Columbia killed in the garage of the rural Luck, WI residence.

Pine and Kanabec County Sheriff’s Departments were involved in a high speed chase that started in Mora Saturday morning. The 20-year-old suspect fled after Mora police tried to stop him for speeding.

Two people from Lexington were thrown from a car in an early morning Thanksgiving day crash. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Michael Pfromm, 24, and Dawm Cameron, 23, were ejected from the vehicle when it rolled on southbound Hwy. 169 and 190th St. north of Milaca.

Onamia, Minn. – The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe recently launched the Mille Lacs Band Legal Aid department, which provides legal services free of charge to low-income enrolled Band members related to legal matters arising in Aitkin, Benton, Crow Wing, Hennepin, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Pine, and Ramsey counties. The program is a part of the Mille Lacs Band Department of Justice.

Shoppers mad a made dash to local stores Friday morning to try to get the best deals on “Black Friday.” The day after Thanksgiving is known as the busiest shopping day of the year, and Leon Rachey says its been no different at the Pine City Walmart.
