Pine City Man Killed in Head-On Collision

Russell Naber, 50, of Pine City was one of two people killed in a head-on collision, Thursday, in Spooner, WI. Naber’s truck was hit when a car driven by Barry Banks, 66, of Spooner crossed the centerline. Both died as a result of the crash.

Man Wanted for Death of 10-Year-Old

Police are searching for a man they say is responsible for the death of a 10-year-old girl from Hinckley. Ti-Heim Darrien Coston, 33, of Bloomington is wanted for a series of charges, including criminal neglect and theft, for his role in starving Lakesha Victor to death. It’s alleged that Coston intentionally falsely claimed $48,715 by fraudulently reporting the number of hours he worked and the types of services he provided Victor while working as a personal care assistant.

Oberstar On NLX Cost

nlxmapThe price of the Northern Lights Express- the proposed high speed rail line between Duluth and Minneapolis- may reach as high as $1 billion, according to a report by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. However, Congressman Jim Oberstar, who is a supporter of the project, says there are options to help bring the cost down.

Teen Killed in Polk Co. Crash

A sixteen year old Dresser girl was killed Friday in a single accident after she was ejected from a vehicle. Alora Breault was the passenger in the 2000 Chevrolet blazer driven by a Eric Johnson, 17, of Waupun who swerved to avoid a collision on US Highway 8 in Balsam Lake Township.

More Flu Clinics Announced in Pine County
