[Gallery] Art in the Park Kicks Off 32nd Year

Art in the Park in Robinson Park, downtown Pine City, began its 32nd year, Friday. The Pine City Jazz Band entertained the crowd who enjoyed sloppy joes courtesy of the Pine City Music Boosters. Art in the Park will run throughout the summer.

Thauwald Sentenced for Brook Park Shooting

thauwaldJeffrey Thauwald, 43, appeared in Pine County Court, Thursday, for sentencing for his involvement in the shooting of Michael Hughes, 31, of Brook Park.

Senator Klobuchar Pushes for Rapid Response to Foodborne Ills

MINNEAPOLIS (Thursday, May 28, 2009) – Joined by Minnesota public health experts, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar held a news conference today to announce that she is introducing federal legislation to promote a more rapid and effective national response to outbreaks of foodborne sickness like the recent case of salmonella-tainted peanut butter.

Art in the Park Begins Friday

Pine City kicks off its weekly summer party, Friday. Art in the Park returns to the downtown area. The Pine City Jazz Band will serve as the year’s first performers. The band will play for two hours beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Mustangs Win Doubleheader, Pirates Also Advance

An exciting night of playoff games on the diamond, Thursday, on Red Rock Radio. The Mora Mustangs win a pair of games and the Grantsburg Pirates move on to play next Thursday. Wisconsin baseball playoffs kick off Friday on 105.7 WXCX.

The Mora Mustangs did not enjoy an easy first round contest against Crosby-Ironton, but they do enjoy moving on. The top seed in class 2A Section Seven gets the 3-1 win and move on to play Hibbing, Thursday, at 4:30 at Wade Stadium in Duluth. Hear the game on 1350 WCMP-AM. Mora enters the game 17-4.
