Pine City Firefighter, Jeremy Jylka, passed away on April 29th, 2008 after falling unconscious while responding to a grass fire. He was 34-years-of-age.

Swimming at the Rush City Aquatic Center will cost a little more this summer. The Rush City Council was informed Monday that the cost is going up because attendance numbers the last two summers are down, while operation costs remain the same. Rush City Baseball Coach Bob Schlagel represented the Aquatic Center at Monday’s meeting.
