ST. PAUL – Minnesota lost 20,700 jobs in January, according to figures released, Thursday, by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED).

Drive-By Shooting in Sandstone

Minnesota Projects Included in Government Funding Bill

Washington DC – Legislation to fund the operation of the government through the end of 2009 designates over $28 million for specific programs and projects in northeastern Minnesota. Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed the $410 billion Omnibus Appropriations Act (HR 1105) by a vote of 245-178.

Pawlenty Announces Greater MN Transportation Projects

Man Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison for Drugs/Fleeing

Chisago County Attorney Janet Reiter announced that Cody Lee Elven, age 25 of Chisholm, Minnesota, was sentenced this week in Chisago County District Court to 84 months in prison upon his conviction for 2nd Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Tuesday Preps: Dragons Hockey Advance, Tigers Hoops Lose

Pine City-Rush City and North Branch hockey teams met on the ice Tuesday for the third time this season, each team winning once so far. Tuesday’s game proved the most significant most because it meant a chance to move on in the playoffs.
