Doyle Announces Extended Unemployment Benefits
MADISON – Governor Doyle today announced additional extended unemployment benefits for Wisconsin workers who have exhausted their benefits, both their regular Wisconsin benefits and the federal extended benefits approved last summer.
Toys For Tots Ready for the Holiday Season
Volunteers with the Toys for Tots Campaign in Pine County came together on Friday to discuss ideas and the direction of this years program. This is the third year for the Pine County Toys for Tots. Vicki VanderVegt is in her first year heading the program. She says Toys for Tots is important, because every child deserve to have something special for the holidays.

2nd Annual Sensational Seminar
Trailview School is Mora hosted the second annual Sensational Seminar Conference on Saturday. Parents, teachers, and other adults in the community were taught techniques to build literacy skills in young students. Deb Colling is one of the coordinators of the seminar. She insists that for children to express who they truly are, they need to have to reading and writing tools

MN Dept of Public Safety Receives Grant to Combat Sex Predators
ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) has received a $500,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to combat child sexual predators.

Pine City’s fall play, “A Christmas Carol” opened Thursday at the elementary school auditorium. The crowd nearly packed every seat to see the performance. You can catch the remaining performances this weekend.
