Holiday Madness One Week Away!

50 Things to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving

Families will gather around the dinner table Thursday for Thanksgiving and talk about the parts of life of which they are thankful. Wednesday, at the Redeeming Grace Church in Pine City, Pastor Tom Kinning is challenging area residents to think of 50 things they are thankful for at a special Thanksgiving Eve Service.

Fire Hall Discussions Continue

The Pine City Fire Hall’s future remains in limbo, but one thing is for certain, something needs to be done.

On Tuesday, a group of a dozen met at the current fire hall to discuss the issue. The group included members of the fire department, city staff, and residents. City Administrator Don Howard led the meeting and focused on how to present the plans to the tax payers.

[Update] ***Breaking News*** Rosemount Man Dead in Pine County Rollover

Steven Cote, 55, from Rosemount is dead after a single vehicle rollover crash in Pine County Monday afternoon. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the accident happened on I-35 northbound, a third of a mile north of Kettle River near mile post 198. The road was classified as icy at the time of the crash.

Mn/DOT warns motorists to watch out for frosty bridge decks

DULUTH, Minn.-Motorists should be alert for frosty or icy bridge decks, overpasses and ramps now that freezing temperatures have arrived in the Arrowhead Region, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Slippery Road Causes Polk County Vehicle Crash

A vehicle spun out of control and landed upside down on State Road 48 Monday night, November 24. The accident happened at 3:30 p.m., at a turn in the road about a quarter mile west of Frederic. No one was injured. Polk County Deputy Sheriff K. Skow said the accident was caused by “slippery-road” conditions. It was snowing most of the day. The driver was a minor, who was wearing a seat belt.
