[Audio] Kanabec Hospital Preparing to Open Expansion
The Kanabec County Hospital is just weeks away from opening the doors of its new million dollar addition. The hospital has not set a final date, but say the work is coming to an end. Hospital CEO Randy Ulseth says there are just a few more touch ups before the big opening.

Ulseth adds that although the expansion was supposed to finish in August, it is below budget. He adds that once it is up an running, it will be a valued resource for the entire region.

New Support Groups at Kanabec Hospital:
Join Kanabec Hospital ’s new “Heart-to-Heart” support group on Tuesday, September 23, at 6:30 p.m. “Heat-to-Heart” is designed for those with cardiac health issues and for their loved ones.
The first meeting will be a time to get to know each other; blood pressure checks will be offered.
The Heart-to-Heart Support group will meet the fourth Tuesday of each month. Kanabec Hospital provides the group as a community service and there is never a charge to attend.
Kanabec Hospital’s is proud to offer a new support group for people with lymphedema starting Monday, September 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Lymphedema is a swelling of the arms or legs. The swelling may be due to cancer treatment, an injury or surgery, or have an unknown cause. Swelling may be painful and disabling or at least inconvenient because it makes it difficult to fit into clothes or shoes. At worst, it increases the risk of a life-threatening attack of cellulitis, which can cause a person to be hospitalized.
The Lymphedema Support group will meet the third Monday of each month. Kanabec Hospital provides the group as a community service and there is never a charge to attend.
